Wellbeing

The health and happiness of the children in our care is of utmost importance to us as a nursery and is at the heart of everything we do.

Wellbeing indoors

We cover all aspects of wellbeing with activities in the rooms such as:

  • Yoga
  • Meditation
  • Music
  • Aromatherapy/Spa activities
  • Sowing seeds

Feeling happy outside

We spend time outside everyday in Forest School no matter what the weather. Fresh air is essential to children’s health and wellbeing, improving appetite, sleep, concentration and happiness. We go on regular walks locally to explore the village and nature trails. We often walk to the garden centre to see the plants, buy seeds and say hello to the fish!  Gardening is important to us, we grow our own vegetables from seeds which we enjoy taking care of and harvesting for our kitchen staff to use. We spend time on The Green, cloud-gazing, a wonderfully relaxing activity which we love to do.

Looking at emotions

We have our nursery therapy dog who loves to come to nursery for cuddles, and our nursery gerbils to care for. We also have on-site children’s wellbeing ambassadors who are there to ensure we are always encouraging each other and working together.
